'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie' Film Review
Title: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
Director: Stephen Hillenburg
Release Year: 2004
Genre: Animation/Comedy
Starting strong with this classically-sung version of the theme song.
And who knew something as trivial as a fast-food employee forgetting the cheese on a customer’s burger could be turned into such a dramatic, fully cinematic intro scene?
It’s honestly quite impressive, and now that I’m paying more attention to each of the characters, they’re actually so well-created, with unique personalities and clever lines. Additionally, the scenes mixing animation with live actors and sets were ironically funny, but ultimately I think my favorite part is how everyone is so unnecessarily, yet chronically, affected by King Neptune’s baldness.
